Ice Cream in the mud at RHS Chatsworth

Ice Cream in the mud at RHS Chatsworth

Carvery and Grill had a new event on our calendar this year, the inaugural RHS Chatsworth. Excited by the new food and ice cream contract we not only put our range of locally sourced food outlets, such as our crowd pleasing Derbyshire Hog Roast, but also built several new ice cream carriages.

Despite the rain and the mud our pastel coloured mini ice cream carriages, and our larger sundae carriage were a success selling Cavendish Banana Splits and Banana ice cream in recognition of the Cavendish bananas grown in Chatsworth conservatories for over 100 years. Our sundae carriage was pride of place next to the giant inflatable conservatory, a replica of Paxton's conservatory in the Chatsworth gardens where the maze now stands.

The beautiful sculptures and stunning displays brightened up the horrible weather, and hard work by the ground crew ensured the mud was kept to a minimum, leading to an amazing first event.
